MedBridge International was founded in 2014 as a platform to address deep-seated inequalities in access to health and development services across Nigeria. What began with community medical outreaches and grassroots development projects quickly grew into a broader mission—to build bridges between underserved populations and sustainable, high-quality services.

In its early years, MedBridge worked with volunteer healthcare professionals to deliver lifesaving interventions in hard-to-reach communities, focusing on primary care, HIV services, maternal and child health, and free healthcare initiatives for vulnerable groups. These efforts laid the foundation for MedBridge’s reputation as a trusted convener, problem-solver, and advocate for equity.

Over time, MedBridge expanded its scope to include economic growth, education, agriculture, organizational development, and institutional strengthening, forging partnerships with civil society, government, and international organizations. This growth was fueled by a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and evidence-based impact.

Most recently, MedBridge entered a new chapter with the inclusion of former senior USAID staff at director level, bringing decades of technical and managerial expertise in global health, economic policy, agriculture, procurement, organizational performance, education and information systems. This expansion significantly strengthens MedBridge’s capacity to design and manage multimillion-dollar portfolios, provide technical assistance, and influence policy reforms at national and regional levels.
